Zhang Fuyun's old house is located at No.2 Changde Road, Heping District, a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin. It is a historic building with key protection level and is now an office building. Zhang Fuyun (1898-1985), a native of Yantai, Shandong Province, graduated from Harvard University with a doctor of law degree. After returning to China, he worked in the Ministry of finance of the Kuomintang government. Later, he served as the director of the General Administration of customs, the director of the General Administration of Taxation, and the director of the national economic research office. The building was built in the name of Li Guoqin, the wife of Zhang Fuyun and the daughter of Li Hongzhang. In 1947, Zhang Fuyun went to Hong Kong and later settled in the United States. The building covers an area of about 4300 square meters, with a construction area of about 1400 square meters. It has a two-story brick and wood structure, a sloping large tubular tile roof and a fair faced red brick wall. The facade of the building is symmetrically arranged at the main entrance, and the arched awning is novel and unique in design, with strong guidance. The interior of the building is exquisitely decorated and well preserved. It has a typical British style, comfortable scale, complete functions and generous appearance.
