Shanshan County

Shanshan county is located at the north foot of Kumtag mountain (Shashan), and the east end of Huoyan mountain in the West. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. Bogda mountain in the north, Turpan Basin and Hami basin in the middle, Gobi and desert in the south.
