Zhang's cemetery

Zhang's cemetery is the ancestral Tomb of patriotic general Zhang Xueliang. Zhang Xueliang's great grandfather Zhang Yonggui, great grandfather Zhang Fa, grandfather Zhang Youcai and second Uncle Zhang Zuofu are all buried here. After liberation, Dongfeng town government invested 3 million yuan twice to rebuild the fence, gatehouse and other facilities.

Zhang's cemetery covers an area of about 16000 square meters. On the left and right sides of the gate, there are granite steles that "the predecessors lay in a auspicious place, and the later generations made great contributions". There is a cultural relic protection board engraved with "Zhang's cemetery" written by general Zhang Xueliang in his later years.

Zhang's cemetery

Zhang's cemetery is located in Yejia village, Dongfeng Town, Dawa District, Panjin City, Liaoning Province. It is the ancestral Tomb of patriotic general Zhang Xueliang. Zhang Xueliang's great ancestors Zhang Yonggui, great grandfather Zhang Fa and grandfather Zhang Youcai are all buried here.

In June 2000, with the approval of Panjin Municipal government, Zhang's cemetery was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.

Historical evolution

Zhang's cemetery was first built in 1889. It was originally the burial place of Zhang zuolin's father, Zhang Youcai, when he died.

In 1984, the ancestral Tomb of Zhangjia was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by Dawa County. In 1986, Zhang Xifang and Zhang Guifang, the clansmen of Zhang Xueliang, led their families to move Zhang Xueliang's great ancestors Zhang Yonggui and great grandfather Zhang Fa to the cemetery. There were nine tombs in three vertical rows: two tombs in the middle, Zhang Xueliang's grandfather Zhang Youcai and his second Uncle Zhang Zuofu's great ancestors Zhang Yonggui and great grandfather Zhang Fa. They became the real tombs of Zhang's ancestors.

In 2000, Dawa County government invested money to renovate the whole cemetery. Bulldozers were used to push up earth dams around the cemetery, and asphalt roads were paved along the corridor. Zhang's cemetery was renovated. In June, with the approval of Panjin Municipal government, Zhang's cemetery was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
