Shangri la hotel is located in Zizhuyuan Road, Haidian District. It opened in August 1987. It is jointly built by China National Metals and Minerals Import and Export Corporation and Hong Kong Shangri La Hotel (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and managed by Shangri La international hotel group. The building is 24 stories high. There are 657 guest rooms. The dining facilities include barbino Italian restaurant, Xicun Japanese restaurant and Chinese restaurant. The hotel has received heads of state of Russia, Britain, the Netherlands, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Germany and other countries. In 1997, the first chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, held three press conferences here on the return of Hong Kong. China Environment Forum and other large-scale activities were held here. It's a five-star hotel.
