Introduction to Beipiao Folktales:
Applicant: Beipiao City, Liaoning Province
Beipiao City, located in the west of Liaoning Province, is a city with a long history and culture. In 1984, the Cultural Department of Beipiao City edited a collection of folktales, the song of Tumet. From 1985 to 1987, in the national major humanities research project "three sets of folk literature integration project", he edited 500000 words of "Chinese folk literature integration · Liaoning volume · Beipiao data book". Since then, Beipiao City has successively edited selected journal of Beipiao folk literature. In 2004, Guo Fengjiu, a retired cadre of Beipiao cultural center, edited and printed the collection of folk tales the legend of Taohuashan at his own expense.
Beipiao folk literature is widely distributed, spread for a long time, a large number of categories. Folklore alone includes eight categories: Scenery Legend, character legend, fantasy story, life story, animal and plant story, custom story, joke and fable. In addition, there are a lot of folk songs and proverbs. Among them, the stories of the great master of Mongolian literature Yin zhannaxi, the Anti Japanese heroes LAN Tianlin and Li Haifeng, the legend of Daheishan, the green island in western Liaoning, and the story of Huining temple, the holy land of Tibetan Buddhism, are of great humanistic value.
Beipiao folk literature is the witness of Beipiao people's heroic struggle in the process of modern revolution, which embodies the spirit of Beipiao people's continuous self-improvement. Beipiao folk literature, especially the local characters and scenery stories represented by Yin zhannaxi and Huining temple, embodies the unique charm of the integration of Mongolian and Han Cultures in this region, with a vigorous and simple artistic style, and has its own characteristics in structure, language, typification, etc.
In recent years, the cultural workers in Beipiao have been insisting on excavating and sorting out the folk literature heritage. At present, there are hundreds of thousands of words of folk literature materials waiting to be published. The inheritance of Beipiao folktales mainly includes family inheritance and social inheritance. At present, many inheritors are old and in poor health. Beipiao folktales are endangered and in urgent need of protection.
