Chengxi Street
Chengxi street, Jiangcheng District, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Jiangcheng district. It is named because it is located in the west of the original county. It borders Jiangcheng city and Ganglie street in the East, Baisha Town in the west, Buchang town in the south, Mashan town in Yangdong county and Shuangjie town in Jiangcheng District in the north, with a total area of 48.5 square kilometers.
The area under jurisdiction is the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of Moyang River, which is high in the northeast and low in the southwest, surrounded by rivers. National Highway g325 connects mabuyan, jinlang, Tantang, Biqiao and other villages, and Jiangzha highway connects Sanjiang, Xibei, Naxi, Dongluo, Longwan, Ruanxi and other villages. The street governs 1 community, 16 administrative villages and 150 natural villages, with a total of 61815 people (2010).
Historical evolution
In the Qing Dynasty, Chengxi sub district was the capital of Changle County, the capital of Yancun of Taiping County, the capital of Guishan county and the capital of Duzhou. From the period of the Republic of China to the early days of the founding of new China, it was called Chengxi Township and Northwest Township, belonging to the first district of Yangjiang county. In 1956, it was attached to the urban area. In 1957, the district was withdrawn to build Daxiang, which is called Chengxi Township and belongs to the subzone. In 1958, the people's commune was established, belonging to Chaomei people's commune.
In 1959, it belonged to Jiangcheng people's commune. In 1961, Chengxi people's commune was built, which is attached to the urban area. In 1983, the commune was withdrawn and called Chengxi district. In February 1987, the district was withdrawn and the West Township was built. In January 1994, the township was removed and Chengxi town was built. There is no town in the west of the city. The town government is located in jinjige, and moved to benjishan in January 1997. In November 2003, the two towns of Baisha and Shuangjie under the jurisdiction of Yangdong County in Yangjiang City were merged into the jurisdiction of Jiangcheng, and the original three towns of Ganglie, Chengxi and Baisha were changed into streets.

Agriculture
Chengxi street is a town with high and stable yield of rice and "Cailanzi base" in Jiangcheng district. In 1990, it was rated as "advanced unit of creating high yield in agriculture" by the Ministry of agriculture of the people's Republic of China. In 2000, the town had 25800 mu of cultivated land, including 21400 mu of paddy field and 4411 mu of dry land. The town's grain planting area is 41900 mu, including 32100 mu of rice, with an annual yield of 749 kg per mu. In 1994, the first "vegetable basket base" was built in mabuyan and wubeizhou; in 1997, the second "vegetable basket base" was built in Naxi village. By 2000, seven vegetable bases had been established in the town, with a vegetable planting area of 24200 Mu and 24000 tons of vegetables on the market every year.
Industry
In the 1990s, part of the land in the west of the city was expropriated, and the surplus rural labor force turned to the secondary and tertiary industries. The town government implemented the strategy of "revitalizing the town through industry" and invested 240 million yuan to create eight industrial zones, covering a total area of 600000 square meters. The main industries are hardware tools, daily chemical, plastic products, shoes, furniture, etc. In 2000, there were 9265 employees in the town, with an annual total output value of 1.327 billion yuan and an annual tax of 55.33 million yuan.
In 1991, Chengxi industrial and commercial office invested 5 million yuan to build a comprehensive Chengxi market covering an area of 2000 square meters, integrating meat, vegetables, clothing and daily necessities. There are 92 meat and vegetable stalls, 22 clothing stalls and 9 daily necessities stalls.
In 1996, mabuyan village invested 2.3 million yuan to build a 7000 square meter vegetable wholesale market beside national highway g325. There are 52 shops for general merchandise, daily necessities, hardware and electricity, farm tools, pesticides, fertilizers, non-staple food, diet, medicine, building materials, rice, clothing, and 105 stalls for fish, meat, vegetables, etc. In the evening, 18 night market stalls will be set up on the roadside.
In 1997, Chengxi polder was set up. The polder is located on the side of national highway g325 opposite to mabuyan market. The polder is scheduled to be held on the 2nd and 7th of each month, mainly selling poultry, timber and other agricultural and sideline products. By 2000, there were 6377 migrant workers, 840 businessmen, 2012 construction workers, 545 transportation workers and 210 catering workers in the town, with an annual income of 98.86 million yuan.
