Taitai Temple
Taitai temple Taitai, a figure in ancient myths and legends, is the founder of successful river management in Chinese history. It is located in the north of xitaishen village, about eight kilometers northwest of Houma City, and on the "ancient Cuiling" on the south side of Fenhe beach. The temple sits in the north and South, covering an area of more than 7000 square meters. Its architectural form is a castle shape with unique shape and unique layout.
origin
According to historical records, Tai Tai was a tribal leader in the period of the five emperors before Dayu. He led the four tribes of Shen, Si, CuO and Huang to dig mountains and stones, dredge the Fenhe and Taohe rivers, and build water conservancy projects for the benefit of the people. Because of his meritorious service in water control and good leadership, the emperor at that time awarded him the Fenhe River area as the fiefdom of Tai Tai. Tai Tai is the first person to control water in China and the earliest water conservancy official in history. Shanxi is the origin of Chinese civilization. Taitai is famous for its great achievements in water control. Its historical status can be affirmed. Later generations respected Taitai as the God of water.
Architecture
Taitai temple is a combination of the base of Taishen palace and the temple on Gucui mountain. The platform base of Taishen palace was built on it during the period of Duke Ping of Jin Dynasty. According to textual research, the society of "zuozu YouSHE" in Xintian period was here. Not far from the West and south, there is a sacrificial belt around the platform base. More than 1000 sacrificial pits have been found, and a large number of exquisite jade wares have been unearthed. It can be seen that sacrificial activities were frequent at that time. Taitai temple in the north of xitaishen village was founded in ancient Cuiling during the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Through investigation and textual research, it is found that Taitai temple in Houma is not only the earliest and largest architectural complex in Fenhe River basin to offer sacrifices to Fenshen, but also the fifth grandson of Yellow Emperor. His ancestors were good at making bows and arrows and were given the surname of Zhang, so Taitai is also the ancestor of Zhang. This argument has been accepted by many genealogical researchers. The surname Zhang accounts for 7% of Chinese surnames, that is to say, there are more than 100 million descendants of the surname Zhang in China. If we develop and study the Taitai culture with the theme of ancestor worship, the Taitai temple will become a resort for ancestor worship.
