[alias] xiaokuyao, Gongluo pot bottom, rooting everywhere.

[source] it is the rhizome or whole grass of Gynostemma pentaphyllum.

[plant morphology] Gynostemma pentaphyllum

Perennial climbing herbs. Stem slender, angulate, tendril apex 2-lobed or undivided. It has 5-7 membranous leaflets, lanceolate or ovate oblong, apex acute or short acuminate, base cuneate, margin with shallowly undulate teeth, larger in the middle hour, 4-10 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, and both leaflets gradually smaller. Flowers unisexual, dioecious, male flowers form axillary, scattered panicles, 10-16 cm long; calyx short, 5-lobed; corolla yellow green, 6-lobed, lobes linear lanceolate, 2.5-3 mm long; stamens 5, lower part of filaments connate. The female inflorescence is short, style 3, ovary globose. Berry globose, 5-9 mm in diameter, black at maturity.

It was born in the mountains. It is distributed in the south of China.
