Qilin caibabao is a traditional folk dance that began to spread in Qiaocun, Xintian Township, Houma City, Shanxi Province in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. The dance expresses the villagers' expectation for a happy life and their praise for peace and prosperity. For more than 200 years, the population of Qiao village has been handed down from generation to generation.
The dance is divided into three parts. The first part is "cloud dance": Eight Golden Boys and girls dance with clouds, and use them to form the characters "peace under heaven"; the middle part is "Kirin dance": surrounded by auspicious clouds and under the guidance of "the sun", Kirin comes out to dance, with elegant posture and beautiful dance, showing elegant temperament and peaceful atmosphere; the tail part is "treasure picking dance": it shows that the mighty Kirin yearns for it He loved the beautiful things in the world, so he collected eight treasures of "Qin, Qi, Shu, Hua, Gu, Lou, Ping, Bo" to decorate the sacred palace in the sky.
Qiaocun Qilin caibabao is deeply loved by the local people for its profound cultural heritage and exquisite performance skills, which has important artistic value, research value and appreciation value.
