Applicant: Shouyang County, Shanxi Province
Nuo dance is a primitive dance with the nature of sacrificial rites in traditional society, which has a long history. It is said that there were the titles of "Da Nuo" and "Xiang Ren Nuo" in the Zhou Dynasty, which gradually became an important part of the national orthodox ritual system after the Han Dynasty. Nuo dance aims at driving away pestilence and praying for peace, which has strong participation of the masses. During the performance, the dancers wore masks, shouting and chasing, which attracted many followers, and the scene was very lively. Nuo dance is widely spread all over the country, especially in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui of the Yangtze River Basin and Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu and Hebei of the Yellow River Basin. Among the minorities in Southwest China, there are many kinds of exorcism instruments and Exorcism dances with various forms and complicated functions.
Love society Nuo dance originated in the middle of the Yellow River Valley in ancient times, is the birthplace of the Yellow River culture, its ancient, primitive form of folk dance, is only spread in Shanxi Province, Shanxi Province, Shanxi Province, Shanxi Province, Shanxi Province, Jinzhong City, Shouyang County. Shouyang was known as Shangai, Zhongai and xiaai (now Yuxian County) in ancient times, hence the name of aishe Nuo dance.
Shouyang love society Nuo dance deduces the legend of "Xuanyuan vs. Chiyou" in the form of wunuo, which shows the Nuo worship consciousness of ancient human hunting times and the national spirit of Yanhuang people's hard-working, brave and tenacious struggle. It takes about 50 minutes for aishe Nuo dance to be performed in Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor's birthday celebration, sacrifice and praying for rain. The dance team consists of 24 people, including 6 big ghosts wearing ghost masks and 18 little ghosts standing on both sides in the shape of city walls. The whole performance is composed of "Wushi" (basic action, showing the preparation before the war), "falling on the wall" (putting the array against each other), "Zhiqiang" (the formation changes into snake molting), "Xiaochang" (failure of siege and re deployment), "Guoguan" (sneaking attack by taking off boots and winning the flag across the city), "playing table" (victory of siege and reward of common people along the street), etc., showing the characteristics of simplicity and nature.
Shouyang love society Nuo dance reflects the historical process of ancient human evolution from hunting civilization to farming civilization. The excavation and arrangement of this ancient art is conducive to the promotion and inheritance of traditional culture in Shanxi and even the whole Central Plains. At present, the descendants of aishe Nuo dance are getting older, and the mask making technology is almost lost, which is in urgent need of rescue.
