Liu's needling and ironing therapy is a medical skill of Liu's family in Chongqing. It has been handed down for 15 generations since Liu's ancestors moved to Chongqing from Huguang in Shunzhi period of Qing Dynasty.

Liu's needling and ironing therapy includes bloodletting and ironing. Pricking blood technique includes the methods of putting Sha, scraping, pulling Sha, picking chancre, medicated needle, fire needle, bloodletting, double needle and one pot, etc. Hot ironing includes egg rolling, light burning, ash bowl throwing, hot compress, medicine rolling, yellow wax moxibustion, wine burning and moxibustion.

Liu's needling and ironing therapy is an important part of Chinese folk medicine, and it is a very effective folk medicine skill.
