Sanhui Caiting fair is a traditional folk cultural activity spread in Sanhui Town, Quxian County, Sichuan Province. It is mainly characterized by Pavilion modeling and performance. It performs in the street or square from March 16 to 18 of the lunar calendar every year. Sanhui town is located in the west of the north section of Huaying Mountain in the east of Sichuan Province. It crosses the Zhouhe River, Bahe River and Qujiang River. It has developed transportation, rich products, rich merchants and active economy. Caiting Fair has developed in this special geographical environment. In the early Qing Dynasty, Caiting fair began to form in Sanhui, and gradually became prosperous from the middle and late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. After the founding of new China, Sanhui Caiting Fair has become the main form of local folk cultural activities and plays an important role in the mass cultural life.
Caiting is the most prominent form of performance in Caiting fair. During the performance, a slender and segmented pole is erected on the platform of about four square meters. The bracket (iron ring) on the pole stretches horizontally and obliquely. It is "decorated with children's make-up, tied to the pole, and rotated with the machine ring to play the characters and stories in the drama or life. It is folded into three to five layers, eight to ten meters high, "Four people to the line, you drag street, amusement terminal.". During the performance, the color Pavilion is leisurely, seemingly falling but not falling, showing the characteristics of "high, startling, dangerous, strange and ingenious", which makes the audience marvel at it. In addition to the color Pavilion, there are more than ten kinds of folk art performances, such as dragon lantern, lion and stilt. During the Caiting Festival, "men and women toured, filled the streets and filled the alleys. They were not far away from Fengshi girls and competed to go to the grand gathering, which almost made the whole country crazy.".
