Introduction to Beijing Storytelling:
Applicant: Benxi City, Liaoning Province
Beijing storytelling originated in Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a form of folk art with far-reaching influence in northern China, mainly in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other places. After the Song Dynasty, the prosperity of "speaking" art promoted the formation of long vernacular novels to a certain extent, and laid a solid foundation for the final emergence of Beijing storytelling.
In Beijing storytelling performance, one person sits behind the table, uses folding fans and wake-up trees as props, uses gestures and facial expressions to explain the plot, portrays characters, and often uses oral skills to simulate the sound of wind, rain, guns, horses, etc., so as to enhance the rhythm and render the atmosphere. In the long-term development process, storytelling has formed a set of unique program norms, showing the artistic characteristics of "Hao", "tight", "dynamic" and "hot". It uses the organizational structure of "shuliangzi", "huimu", "Guanzi" and "pokou" to describe people and things with "Fu" and "Zan", which is accurate and well arranged. His performance is full of colloquial color, bold and uninhibited style, warm and lively, to say, eloquent and fascinating.
The traditional bibliographies of Beijing storytelling mainly include the romance of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the romance of the Western Han Dynasty, the romance of the Three Kingdoms, the biography of Yue Fei, the three heroes and five virtues, etc. these works have played an educational role in popularizing historical knowledge and highlighting traditional virtues in the process of dissemination, and have a cultural value that cannot be underestimated. Since modern times, a large number of performing artists with high artistic standards have emerged in Beijing storytelling industry, such as yuan Kuocheng, Tian Lianyuan, Lian Liru, etc.
At present, the increase of literature and art forms and the development of mass media have led to the unprecedented prosperity of social and cultural life. In this context, people's interest in storytelling has been greatly weakened. This situation has affected the development of storytelling in Beijing, resulting in the decrease of storytelling practitioners, the lack of successors of the excellent folk art which was once brilliant for a time, and the great difficulties in inheritance. It is urgent for the relevant parties to take measures as soon as possible to protect and support it.
