Laolai town
Laolai Town, belonging to Nehe City, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northwest of Nehe City, adjacent to Longhe town in the East, kongguo Township in the south, Xuetian town in the west, and ilaha town in Nenjiang County in the north. It is 23 kilometers away from Nehe City, with a total administrative area of 453.91 square kilometers.
In the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1685), the khamunika post station was built. In April 1984, laocai commune was transformed into laocai town. By the end of 2018, the population of Laolai town registered residence was 49756. In 2019, Laolai town governs 10 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in laocai village.
Laolai town is a key grain producing area in Nehe city. The main food crops are soybean, corn, potato, miscellaneous beans and rice, and the main industry is agricultural products processing. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in Laolai town and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1685), the khamunika post station was built.
In 1931, after the fall of Northeast China, the city police station was set up, which belongs to Nehe city. In 1938, laocai village was set up with 12 villages under its jurisdiction. In April 1946, the old vegetable district was changed, and it was abolished in the same year. In 1947, it belonged to the third district.
In 1949, the 14th District was set up.
In May 1955, it was renamed old vegetable district.
In April 1956, it was divided into five townships: Laolai, Yongsheng, Yongfeng, Xiangyang and Jixian; in September of the same year, Yongsheng township was merged into Laolai township.
In 1958, it merged with Xiangyang, Jixian and Yongfeng to form Shengli commune.
In 1959, it was renamed laocai commune.
In April 1984, laocai commune was transformed into laocai town.

The origin of place names
Laolai Town, formerly known as kamnika, is one of the post stations from Jilin Wula (now Jilin City) to Heilongjiang city (now Heihe now Hun town) in Qing Dynasty. It got its name because it was built on the Laolai river. Laolai is the sound of Luli in tingga river.
