Ningxiang town is located in the west of Shanxi Province, the West foot of the middle section of Luliang mountains, and the north central part of Zhongyang County. Ningxiang town is adjacent to Fenyang and Xiaoyi in the East, Luliang City in the north, Jiaokou county and Shilou County in the south. It is the political, transportation, economic, educational and cultural center of Zhongyang County.

Ningxiang town is the seat of Zhongyang County Government.
