In 1945, it belonged to five districts.

In 1956, linzitou town was changed into Shiren town.

In September 1958, gaishiren (Fengguang) commune was established.

In March 1962, it was divided into Shiren town and Shiren commune (Fengguang commune).

In September 1964, it was merged into Shiren commune.

In 1984, the Shiren commune was transformed into a town.

In December 2000, dashishengzi and yumuqiaozi townships were merged into Shiren Town, and Guanghuan street was assigned to dashiren town; Shiren town had jurisdiction over two streets and later changed to community.
