Sizhai Township

Sizhai Township, belonging to Huangyuan County, Xining City, Qinghai Province, is located in the northwest of the county. It is adjacent to Bayan and tawan townships in the East, tawan Township in the south, laladaban mountain in the southwest, Gonghe County in the west, Haiyan County in the north and Jiangjun mountain in the Northeast. The area is 141.83 square kilometers. In 2018, there were 6818 registered residence population.

Before 1949, it was Xiaosi township. In 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of tawan township. In 1956, Sizhai township was established. In 1958, it belonged to Changfeng (tawan) commune. In 1961, Sizhai commune was established. In 1984, Sizhai township was set up. As of October 2019, 13 administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of Sizhai township.

In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in Sizhai Township, with 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

By the end of 2011, it had jurisdiction over 13 villagers' committees, including yangpowan, bojiwan, Fenghuo, majiling, Xiaosi, Shangzhai, Xiazhai, xizhawan, Changling, Wuling, Huajian, Wutu and Caoyu.

As of October 2019, Sizhai township has 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, namely, xiaosier village, Huajian village, Xiazhai village, xizhawan village, Caoyu village, Changling village, Shangzhai village, bojiwan village, Wutu village, Fenghuo village, majiling village, yangpowan village and Wuling village.

The main economic crops are characteristic vegetables. The vegetable planting area is 300 mu and the output is 600 tons. The main varieties are Korean big leaf spinach and green garlic seedling, among which 350 tons are big leaf spinach and 150 tons are green garlic seedling. Animal husbandry mainly raises sheep and cattle, with 10000 sheep and 13000 cattle on hand at the end of the year, and 25000 cattle on hand at the end of the year.
