Wangfu reef

At the foot of Nanchangshan Island, there is a reef standing against the wind, shaped like a woman wearing a scarf and holding a baby. This reef is called "Wangfu reef".

Wangfu reef is a natural stone, which is formed by alternating superimposition of shale and quartz rock without artificial carving. There are not many places to play in Wangfu reef park. If you are in a hurry, you may not go there. There is a geological museum built in it, which can be visited for free. There are all kinds of stones and bonsai, as well as inkstones of good quality, but the selling price is on the high side.

Wangfu reef scenic spot is located in the north end of South Changshan Island, with Jade Street and miaodaotang in the west, Changshan island across the sea in the north and Zhushan island in the East. In many parts of China, there are similar legends about Wangfu reef, Wangfu platform, Wangfu stone and their beauty. There is a touching legend here. One year on December 28, a fisherman was forced to go out to sea to catch fish. Suddenly, he encountered wind and waves and never came back. His wife, who had been married for more than a year, was devastated. She stood by the sea all day holding a child who was not full moon, hoping that one day a miracle would appear and her husband would return safely. But after many years, the family did not return, she became a motionless stone standing there.

Many scholars also wrote poems, especially Wang Jian's Wangfu stone, which vividly displayed the unique traditional virtues and temperament of Chinese women. "At Wangfu's place, the river is long, turning into a stone, without looking back. The wind and rain are returning day by day on the mountain top, and the stone responds when the pedestrians return."

Wangfu reef shows the scene of fishermen's women standing on the shore in the era of sailing, looking forward to the safe return of their husbands and sons. It is also the group symbol of the fishermen's women's loyalty, simplicity, kindness and wisdom.
