Shahe Subdistrict

Shahe street, the seat of Chaisang District Committee and government, is located in the southwest of Jiujiang City, north of the middle of Chaisang district and northwest corner of Lushan scenic spot, with a total area of 12 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 11 neighborhood committees including Tucheng, Heqiao, Laojie, Dongfanghong, 916, Ganquan, Xincheng, Ruijing, Shuangrui, Gongyuan and Yuanming; Dongfeng, Qingfeng (under the jurisdiction of BALIHU New District), Yanghua (under the jurisdiction of BALIHU New District) In 2010, there were three village committees, including the village committee (under the jurisdiction of the district), with a population of 39560.

Beijing Kowloon Railway, national highway 105 and Changjiu Expressway run from north to south, Wujiu railway and Jiujing Expressway run from east to west, and Wujiu, Jingjiu and Hejiu railway meet at Lushan station and Shabei marshalling station.

The tombs of Tao Yuanming, a pastoral poet of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and the ancestral hall of Tao Yuanming; the tombs of Yue Fei's mother, old lady Yao, and Yue Fei's wife, Li's, are important parts of Lushan scenic spot, all located in the town.

Agricultural production is mainly greenhouse vegetables and high-quality cotton production, with more than 2000 mu of water surface, suitable for all kinds of aquaculture. Water, electricity, communications and other infrastructure, beautiful environment, is the national civilized health town.

Historical evolution

In 1950, it belonged to Heqiao, xunzhen, Shahe and other townships in Shahe district. In 1958, it became Shahe commune. In 1968, it built a new town and changed its name to Shahejie town in 1983. In 1997, with an area of 20.8 square kilometers and a population of 36000, it has jurisdiction over seven neighborhood committees including Park, Heqiao, Laojie, Lengshui, Tanan, Ganquan and Zhanqian, and six administrative villages including Xincheng, Qingfeng, Yanghua, Tuju, Dongfanghong and Dongfeng. In 2003, Shahe township was incorporated into the city. In 2017, the town will be removed and streets will be set up.
