Sangong town

Sangong Town, subordinate to Changji City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of the city. It is adjacent to Toutunhe District of Urumqi City in the East, Miaoergou Township in the south, Erliugong town in the West and Jianguo Road Street in the north. The area is 123 square kilometers. In 2018, 21824 people registered residence.

In 1950, it belonged to the first district. In 1956, it was called Sangong township. In 1958, rocket commune was established. In 1959, it was renamed Sangong commune. In 1966, it was renamed Hongwei commune. After 1973, it was renamed Sangong commune. In October 1984, the township system was restored to Sangong township. In October 1995, the township was removed to build a town. In October 2019, Sangong town governs seven administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 82 industrial enterprises in Sangong town and 19 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
