Shazhu Yuxiang

Shazhuyu Township, belonging to Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the west of Gonghe County, adjacent to qiabqia town in the East, Tiegai town in the south, tanggemu town in the west, and niandi Township in the northeast, 35 kilometers away from Gonghe County. The area is 543.07 square kilometers. In 2018, 7773 people registered residence.

In the fourth year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1509), the Mongolian moved to the north in the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. In 1870, after land reclamation, farmers in Huangzhong and Huangyuan moved and gradually became one of the main agricultural areas in Gonghe County. After the founding of new China, Shazhuyu area belongs to Duxiu District, where Shazhuyu township is located. In 1959, it was renamed Sanhu commune. In 1960, Shazhuyu commune was set up separately. In 1984, the township was changed. As of October 2019, Shazhuyu township has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.

Shazhuyu township has a continental plateau climate, with an average annual temperature of 2.4 ℃, an average annual precipitation of 246 mm, a frost free period of 75 days, a crop growth period of 150-180 days, and a pasture growth period of 170-200 days. Hail, drought, sandstorm and other disastrous weather are more common. There are 51 days of strong wind in the whole year, lack of water, serious desertification and soil erosion.
