The town government is stationed in Shiling village, at the east end of Shiling hill, 23 kilometers away from the county. On December 20, 1994, the township was removed and the original administrative area remained unchanged. It borders quanzhai town and Tandian Township in the East, Leizu town and Wuyang County in the west, Yangzhuang Township in the South and quanzhai town and Wuyang County in the north. Covering an area of 63.6 square kilometers, it governs 14 administrative villages, 64 natural villages, 139 villager groups, with a total population of 43000, and has 75000 mu of cultivated land. In 2007, it was designated as an old revolutionary base town by the provincial people's government.
