Wuling Township

Wuling township is located in the southwest of Datian County, adjacent to Shipai town in the East, Wuci township of Zhangping City in the west, Xieyang Township in the South and Shangjing town in the north. The township government is located in Wuling village, 26 kilometers away from the county seat. It is all Han nationality, and its dialect is datianqianlu dialect.

By the end of 2014, it had jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, 94 villager groups and 12400 people. The rural area is 107.83 square kilometers.

In 2014, the township has 9 administrative villages with a total population of 12400. Wuling township has a glorious revolutionary history. In the spring of 1937, the first party branch of Datian County was established in Wuling township. 43 martyrs, including Lin Dafan and Lin Hongtu, died bravely for the revolution.

Human history

Wuling is an old revolutionary guerrilla area in central Fujian. On August 20, 1929, Zhu De led the workers' and peasants' Red Army to attack central Fujian, passing through Wuling. In the spring of 1936, Lin Hongtu, Secretary of the Party branch of Hebei Provincial Agricultural College, returned to his hometown Wuling. In the spring of the next year, Lin Dafo, principal of Wuling primary school, was recruited to join the Communist Party of China, and the first party branch of Datian County, Wuling primary school branch of the Communist Party of China, was established in Wuling. During the Anti Japanese War and the liberation war, Wuling was the seat of the central Fujian Working Committee of the CPC and the northwest Fujian Special Committee. During the revolutionary war, 43 martyrs, including Lin Dafo and Lin Hongtu, died bravely for the revolution.
