Xinzhuang Park

Xinzhuang park is located at 421 Xinbang Road, southwest of Xinzhuang Town, Minhang District, Shanghai, covering an area of 88 mu (59000 square meters). The garden was built in 1930 by Yang's planting 16.5 mu (11000 square meters) of fruit plum, named Shenye plum garden, commonly known as Yangjia garden. The park is characterized by plum blossom. Now there are more than 400 plum trees and more than 40 varieties in the park, especially the green calyx plum. In 2004, the park expanded another 30 mu, with a total investment of 7 million yuan (including preliminary fees). With plum blossom as the theme, the scenic spots are arranged. The old and new parks are connected by a stone arched horizontal rainbow bridge, which makes the East and the west combine to form a whole. In the newly expanded part, the main scenic spot is Huamei Garden (Meiyuan), which is an elegant and exquisite space surrounded by teahouse, corridor, gatehouse and stream. Outdoor plum pile, fine plum and other top-grade plum, rendering the charm of plum. The newly expanded park has further improved the overall function of Xinzhuang Park, made reasonable layout, highlighted the characteristics of plum blossom, and formed a humanistic landscape suitable for modern needs.

Development history

Meiyuan, with an area of only 11000 square meters (18 mu), is a unique private garden. So now it is commonly known as Yangjia garden.

In 1951, it was returned to the public during the land reform and was taken over by the park management office of the works bureau to carry out the reconstruction. In the same year, after opening to the public under the name of Xinzhuang Park, the park has been expanded and rebuilt for many times, including digging canals, piling rockeries, building pavilions and bridges. It has a scale of 88 mu.

In 1984, the park expanded westward, covering an area of 40 mu, with an investment of 2.5 million yuan. At that time, due to the lack of funds and other factors, the original plan of peony garden, children's paradise, teahouse, etc. could not be constructed on schedule. Due to the different stone materials, the stacking of Hushi and Huangshi beside Furong lake was not ideal. The seedlings were moved from an old nursery, and the planting of seedlings was not carried out according to the plan. The plant configuration was disordered, there were many deciduous trees, the ground cover was obviously insufficient, and the terrain of the lawn was not smooth There are problems such as water accumulation.

In 1994, the park was transformed. According to the funding situation, the park will be transformed one by one to make the transformation successful one by one, and the appearance of the park will be improved year by year. After several years of careful transformation, the infrastructure of the park is improving day by day. The park is characterized by plum blossom. Now there are 750 plum trees and more than 30 varieties in the park, especially the green calyx plum.

In 2004, the park expanded another 30 mu, with a total investment of 7 million yuan (including preliminary fees). With plum blossom as the theme, the scenic spots are arranged. The old and new parks are connected by a stone arched horizontal rainbow bridge, which makes the East and the west combine to form a whole. The project started in October 2004 and lasted for three months to complete the whole construction task before the Spring Festival.

In the newly expanded part, the main scenic spot is Huamei Garden (Meiyuan), which is an elegant and exquisite space surrounded by teahouse, corridor, gatehouse and stream. Outdoor plum pile, fine plum and other top-grade plum, rendering the charm of plum. At the same time, there is a clear spring from the mountain stone in the garden. The landscape stones along the bank are scattered. There are plum blossom, cherry blossom, Sapium sebiferum, camellia, Rhododendron, June snow and other colored leaf trees and flowering shrubs planted in the mountain stones, which dye the whole mountain stream into a flower stream. Petals flowing with the stream, fragrance floating, shadow horizontal oblique, several stream bridge. Beiting small square is located at the corner of Xinbang River and Tuanjie river. There are stele Pavilion, landscape stone, pine, bamboo and plum, forming a quiet space with cultural taste. Wufu square is a place for morning exercise and communication. On the ground floor of the square, there are sculptured patterns of blessing and poems chanting plum blossoms, which make visitors walk slowly around in the shade of trees, watching and learning as they travel. The newly expanded park has further improved the overall function of Xinzhuang Park, made reasonable layout, highlighted the characteristics of plum blossom, and formed a humanistic landscape suitable for modern needs.

Main attractions

Plum Garden

It is located in the east of the garden, covering an area of about 1600 square meters. There are 15 kinds of spring plum and more than 120 plants in the garden, among which the treasures are green calyx plum, red plum, Gongfen plum, Zhusha plum, Jiangmei, yudie, plain white Pavilion, etc. Some sweet scented osmanthus were planted in the middle of the plum garden. There is Huating in the southwest corner, 3.5 meters high and 14.9 square meters in area. Pavilion round, stone structure, six columns save spire, carved on the eaves figure relief. There are stone benches in the pavilion, and Osmanthus fragrans, Camellia oleifera, Pinus thunbergii, Prunus mume and Myrica rubra are planted beside the pavilion.

Lotus Pond

Located in the southeast of the garden, the original area of 1200 square meters, and then connected with a section of yujiabang River, expanded to 2000 square meters. Lotus is planted in the pool, and a reinforced concrete bridge is erected on the pool. A corner of the pool is planted with jasmine, Aucklandia and wisteria, and there are black pines beside the pool. A cedar in the north of the pool is 20 meters high and 67 cm in diameter at breast height.

Water lily pool

Located in the northeast of the garden, covering an area of about 30 square meters. The bank line of the pool is zigzag, the Lake stone revetment, and the stone road beside the pool is also scattered with lake stones in various shapes. There are many kinds of water lilies in the pool. Peach, plum, plum, Michelia, Chimonanthus praecox and Lagerstroemia indica are planted on the small earth mountain by the pond.

Meiyuan

Located in the west of the garden, it is a garden surrounded by walls and curved corridors, covering an area of 286.25 square meters. The eastern part of the garden is a combination of corridors and pavilions. The curved corridor covers an area of 39 square meters, with brick and wood structure, small green tile vault, imitation square brick cement floor, corridor columns in the West and lattice walls in the East. The south-east end of the corridor is lianyuanmen, and the north end is Shuixie. Pavilion for the rectangular, brick and wood structure, xiaoqingwache peak, four corners up, an area of 52 square meters. In the center of the pavilion, there is a screen wall with 12 dark red log columns supporting the roof. On both sides of the pavilion, there are cement benches and buttresses, and the ground is antique square brick cement floor. In front of the pavilion, there is a platform with an area of 32.34 square meters, on which 12 zodiac images are carved on stone pillars. The garden is adjacent to the water in the west, with three curved bridges connecting with the outside. The garden is planted with plum blossoms, camellia, Podocarpus, juniper, etc.

Meishan, Yinxiang Pavilion

It is located at the south end of furongtan. Meishan is 3.5 meters high. The dark incense Pavilion on the top of the mountain is of wood structure, with blue tubular tiles and a sharp top. The six corners are upward, covering an area of 7.68 square meters. Plum blossom and Chimonanthus praecox are widely planted around the pavilion and around the mountain.

Hope Pavilion

Located on the northwest Bank of furongtan, it faces Meiyuan Pavilion across the lake. Pavilion for the wood structure, four columns, small green tiles save the top, angle, an area of 11.56 square meters. There is a big lawn in the east of the pavilion, and weeping willows, Osmanthus fragrans and Robinia pseudoacacia are planted beside the pavilion.

Suojiaoting and goldfish pond

Located in the southeast of the park. Pavilion fan-shaped, wooden structure, ten columns, xiaoqingwache peak, two angles, an area of 63.36 square meters, pavilion with dark red wooden stool and support. Longbai and camphor are planted beside the pavilion. The goldfish pool in Tingnan is reconstructed from the original swimming pool, covering an area of 375 square meters. Water lilies are planted in the pond, and red carp play in the pond.

Tourism information

Although the park is not big, comprehensive park needs to have all the functions, including teahouse, children's paradise and so on. It is a good place for people to rest, return to nature and relax. In May 2002, the park was opened free of charge.

In addition, you can take subway line 1 or 5 to Xinzhuang station, walk west along Xinjian Road, turn to Xindong road or Xinxi Road, and finally enter Xinbang road. You can reach the park in about 20 minutes.

In the garden, plum trees are mainly planted, with evergreen trees such as pine, bamboo, cypress and Cinnamomum camphora. There are more than 400 plum trees, more than 400 plum piles and more than 30 varieties, such as Shuangbi Chuizhi green calyx, plain white Pavilion, pink cinnabar, green calyx, etc. Its quantity and species are rare in parks of this city. The plum garden in the east of the garden and the plum garden in the west of the garden are the main scenic spots for appreciating the plum. Every spring and February, when it is warm and cold, the plum blossoms are in full bloom in the garden. The flowers spit out the fat, the snow presses the branches, and the fragrant orchid is intoxicating.

Especially in the garden of double green branches green calyx plum, branches dome, soft with just, flowers white in green, green calyx set off, elegant fragrance. The most attractive one is the old pile bonsai plum. Its branches are like a dragon. Some of them have already died, but clusters of flowers are blooming on the tender branches. The faint fragrance floats in the air, and the life breath is flowing out. The white walls and black tiles in the garden, the corridor and the bamboo pavilion are matched with the plum trees, which are classical and elegant. Visitors from all over the world come to the garden to enjoy the plum blossoms. They are so busy that they forget to return. Among them, there are many famous calligraphers and painters, writers, photographers and other artists in Shanghai.

Lotus pool is also one of the park's scenic spots. The two pools are connected by a stream with a bridge. There are more than ten lotus plants in the two pools
