The Bund historical museum was completed in September 1995. It is jointly sponsored by Huangpu District government and Shanghai Municipal Archives Bureau. Visitors can get insight into the development history of Shanghai from the development track of the Bund. In January 2003, the memorial hall was named Shanghai patriotism education base

Introduction to scenic spots

The museum, with precious historical photos as the main part, supplemented by representative archives and materials, shows the audience the historical changes of the Bund since its opening 150 years ago. The museum uses modern multimedia means to display the vicissitudes of the Bund in the past century through digital photo frame, projection, touch screen and e-book. The exhibition includes not only the old appearance of "Oriental Wall Street" formed by the Bund's banks, but also the Bund's building protection, the construction of central business district and financial cluster belt in the past 30 years of reform and opening up. The memorial hall is divided into two parts: the history of the old Bund before liberation and the development of the new Bund after liberation. With the main line of "Bund -- the starting point of modern Shanghai's urban development" and "Bund -- the window of Shanghai's reform and opening up" as the main line, it shows the modern history of Shanghai through the rapid changes of the Bund
