Nanshan archery is a traditional sport popular in Ledu County, Qinghai Province. It was introduced to the local area in the Ming Dynasty and took shape in the Qing Dynasty. Nanshan archery competition has a unique way and rich content, which is deeply loved by the local Han, Tibetan, Hui, Tu and other nationalities. It is the main form of the local national fitness movement. Every summer, archery competitions are held in villages and towns of Ledu Nanshan area, which are conducted in various forms, such as inter village competitions, challenge arena competitions, Invitational competitions, centralized competitions and scattered competitions, with a large number of participants. At the same time, Nanshan archery is also a "flower meeting" and material exchange meeting. Every competition day, vendors from all sides gather to watch the crowd "sing" Hua'er and "Lai" (local Tibetan love songs). The atmosphere of the whole competition is warm, and each audience participates in it in different ways, making Nanshan archery a carnival for local people.

Nanshan archery has rich cultural connotations.
