Shandong Teachers College

In 1954, Premier Zhou Enlai accompanied Nehru to visit Qufu and personally planned the location of Qufu Normal University.

In April 1955, the Ministry of Education approved the construction of Shandong Normal College, which is located in Qufu, Confucius' hometown. In September of the same year, the first opening ceremony was held in Jinan by borrowing the original Biology Department building of Shandong Normal University on Jingwu road and Weiqi road. During the period of Shandong Normal College, there were three specialized subjects: Chinese, history and mathematics.

Qufu Normal University

In May 1956, the University was upgraded to Qufu Normal University with the approval of the Ministry of education. In September of the same year, the University moved to Qufu, which started the process of establishing undergraduate education. The University moved from Jinan City to 57 Jingxuan West Road in Qufu City.

At the beginning of August 1970, Shandong Provincial Revolutionary Committee decided to move the liberal arts of Shandong University to Qufu and merge with Qufu Normal University. In November of the same year, Qufu Normal University was renamed Shandong University.

On February 4, 1974, the Shandong Provincial Revolutionary Committee issued a document announcing the restoration of Shandong University and Qufu Normal University. The name of the University was changed from Shandong University to Qufu Normal University, and all the students moved to Jinan.

In 1981, the University was established as one of the six key universities by the people's Government of Shandong Province; in the same year, it was approved as one of the first batch of universities to recruit graduate students in China.

In 1982, the University obtained the right to confer master's degree.

In early 1984, the school began to prepare for the establishment of Rizhao teaching point.

In August 1985, the school set up an office in Rizhao, located in shijiusuo. On September 25, Rizhao teaching center held the first opening ceremony. In November, the people's Government of Shandong Province approved Qufu Normal University to be renamed Qufu Normal University.

In 1988, Rizhao office was renamed Rizhao Branch.

In October 1999, the school began to prepare for the construction of Rizhao campus, and the final site is No. 50, Yantai North Road, Rizhao City.

In September 2002, the third phase project of Rizhao campus was completed and Rizhao campus was completed.

In 2003, the University obtained the right to confer doctor's degree.

In 2004, the University obtained the excellent results of undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of education.

In July 2014, the school of engineering, School of software and School of Statistics (Preparatory) were established. In October, the school's two postdoctoral mobile stations of Marxist theory and statistics were approved, and the school was selected as the University jointly built by HP international software talent and industrial base project.

 

On December 2, 2015, the Department of Marxism of the University (including the school of Marxism and the school of politics and public administration) was officially established.

 

In January 2016, the school joined the "Huaihai Economic Zone Rural Excellent Teacher Education Alliance". In September, the University was added as a pilot unit of graduate curriculum construction of the Ministry of education. In December, three subjects of the University were selected as "first-class subjects" in Shandong Province.

 

In July 2017, the school signed a cooperation agreement with Liangshan county to jointly build Liangshan middle school affiliated to Qu Normal University. In August, the school was selected into the Ministry of education's "promoting the implementation of excellent middle school teacher training" project.

 

On December 3, the foundation of West Campus of Qufu Normal University was laid.

 

In July 2018, the University was rated as a national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university by the Ministry of education.

 

In November, the Ministry of Education announced the list of the first batch of excellent traditional Chinese culture inheritance bases, and Qufu Normal University was selected.

 

In October 2019, the University was awarded four postdoctoral research mobile stations in philosophy, pedagogy, ecology, control science and engineering, ranking first in Shandong Province.

 

In January 2020, the school will be selected as the construction base of teachers' ethics of the Ministry of education.

 

On January 10, the University won the second prize of National Natural Science Award in 2019.
