Dabai mountain

Dabai mountain is named for its snow capped peak. It is located at the junction of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang Province. It is a young peak formed by the Yanshan movement. It is the highest peak in the northern section of Daxing'an Mountains and the main peak of yilehuli mountain, with an altitude of 1528.7 meters.

The south slope of Dabai mountain is located in wulite forest farm of Ganhe Forestry Bureau in Daxing'anling, Inner Mongolia, and the north slope is located in Huyuan forest farm of Huzhong Forestry Bureau in Daxing'anling, Heilongjiang Province. The mountain is steep in the South and gentle in the north, towering and vigorous. It is the birthplace of NOMIN River, Huma River, Ganhe River and Yali river.

Due to its high altitude and cold climate, the snow cover period of Dabai mountain lasts for 8-9 months. The mountain is mainly composed of granite and volcanic rocks. Affected by the frost cracking weathering, the rock on the top of the mountain is exposed, forming a large gravel slope or stone pond. There is only a small amount of soil in the gap between some crushed stones or blocks of rock, which is banfelitic soil, and the soil cover is very discontinuous. The plants only grow cold resistant lichens and low pines. The permafrost layer on the north slope is more than 1 meter. The dense primeval forests at the foot of the mountain include Larix gmelinii, Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica, poplar and birch. There are black bear, wild boar, deer and grouse, flying dragon bird and other animals.

The official name of the so-called "dabaishan" in Huyuan forest farm of Huzhong district is xiaobaishan, which is located in the Baishan scenic spot 15 kilometers southwest of Huyuan forest farm of Huzhong Forestry Bureau of Daxing'an Mountains, Heilongjiang Province, with an altitude of 1404 meters.

The planation surface on the top of the mountain is more than a sea of stones, and the lower part of the mountain is more than a skirt of cuttings. The mountains are towering. In spring, there are many black and blind people in the valley. In winter, there are logging spots on the mountain.

Dabai mountain has typical forest vegetation vertical belt landscape characteristics: 1500-1200 m, subalpine low curve forest belt, including Pinus elliottii shrub and P. densiflora shrub; 1300-900 m, subalpine coniferous (broad-leaved) forest belt in mountain cold temperate zone, including Pinus elliottii, Betula platyphylla and deciduous birch forest, Pinus elliottii and gravel slope vegetation; 1200-700 m, mountain cold temperate coniferous forest belt, including Rhododendron It is composed of larch forest, Larix gmelinii forest, Larix gmelinii forest and Populus sylvestris forest; 700-660m, the valley is dominated by Carex swamp meadow. This kind of distribution is not only a living teaching material for plant teaching, but also has high scientific investigation and research value.

Mountain resources

At the top of Dabai mountain, there is a fire watch tower. You can see the vast Xing'an Mountains from the tower. Visitors can also rest, play and pick in the Yansong forest, China's largest area, 800 meters above sea level. The Dabai mountain scenic spot has built 10 kilometers of tourist highway. Different forest landscapes are distributed on both sides of the highway, including gravel slope, dry land lotus, peacock Kaiping, mountain spring and underground river. When you climb the Dabai mountain, you can overlook the high mountains and the wild, which makes you feel extraordinary and refined.
