Ramos apartment

Lamos apartment is located at 2079-2099 Sichuan North Road (Beichuan apartment). First named Ramos apartment. It was invested by British Ramos and built in 1928. It covers an area of 1450 square meters and a building area of 5675 square meters. It is one of the famous apartments in Shanghai. Mr. Lu Xun and Feng Xuefeng lived here. Now it is an excellent historical building in Shanghai.

Architectural features

The steel concrete structure has four floors, facing north and south, with decorative art style. Plane rectangle, three section elevation, vertical bar composition. The entrance door is decorated with coupons. Balconies are protruded from the second floor to the fourth floor, with fancy cast iron railings. Half round coupons are set at the top of the fourth floor. The roughened wall is pointed. The interior stair railings are spiral and the corner columns are exquisitely carved.

history

In 1930, Lu Xun, with his wife Xu Guangping and son Zhou Haiying, once lived in this apartment. Lu Xun published more than 170 translated works in the third floor room. We are familiar with "for the memory of forgetting", "on the third kind of people", "on the" surprise "of friendly countries" and so on.

In 1932, Chen Geng, general of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army, came to Shanghai secretly. Lu Xun talked with him in Ramos apartment until late at night. Chen Geng told Lu Xun about the fighting situation of the Red Army, and drew a picture of the fighting situation of the Red Army in Hubei, Henan and Anhui on a small piece of paper, which Lu Xun had preserved.

In March of the next year, Qu Qiubai, the leader of the Communist Party, moved to Ramos' apartment and often met Lu Xun, who lived nearby.

At about the same time, Feng Xuefeng, the party secretary of the left wing League, and his family moved into basement 2099 next door,

He often came and went with Lu Xun. Together with Lu Xun, he published "outpost" to commemorate the "five martyrs of the left wing League". Lu Xun learned from Feng Xuefeng about the fighting situation of the Red Army against "encirclement and suppression".

Late one night in late November 1932, a man came in front of Ramos' apartment. He quickly walked into 2093, went up to the third floor and knocked on Lu Xun's door. He is Chen Yun, Secretary of the all China Federation of trade unions. He came to pick up Qu Qiubai and his wife for safe transfer.

On January 13, 2004, the people's Government of Hongkou District announced lamos apartment as a cultural relic protection unit in Hongkou District.

On October 31, 2005, it was announced as an excellent historical building by Shanghai Municipal People's government.
