Xikeng reservoir is one of the medium reservoirs in Foshan City, located in Yanghe town. The reservoir was built in October 1975, with a total capacity of 10.15 million cubic meters. It is a medium-sized reservoir mainly for irrigation and comprehensive utilization of flood control, power generation, fish culture and tourism.

Reservoir introduction

Xikeng reservoir is 27 km southwest of Gaoming District and 14 km north of Yanghe town. It's only 3 kilometers away from Zaomu mountain and Wanbao villa. It's named for its proximity to Xikeng village. Xikeng reservoir, built in October 1975, is a medium-sized reservoir in Gaoming District. The rain collecting area is 10.5 square kilometers. The total storage capacity is 10.15 million cubic meters. There is a hydropower station with an installed capacity of 240 kW and an annual generating capacity of 356000 kwh. Xikeng reservoir was designated as one of the eight new scenic spots of Gaoming in 1990.

Green bamboos, green to drop, surrounded by a river of clear water straight up the sky. Due to the good ecology, there are often thousands of egrets circling and chirping, which has become a great spectacle here.
