Tiewa Temple

Tiewa temple, formerly known as baiyun temple, is located on the top of Gaofeng mountain at the junction of Xuanzhou, Ningguo and Jingxian in Banqiao Forest Nature Reserve, fangtang Township, Ningguo City, Anhui Province. It was built in the third year of Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty and was destroyed later. After the reform and opening up, the religious policy was implemented. Tiewa temple has been restored to life through spontaneous donations from Nanjing, Yixing, Lin'an, Xuanzhou and local believers. Every year, there are thousands of pilgrims on the three traditional Buddhist festivals of February 19, June 19 and September 19.

Gaofeng mountain is located at the junction of Xuanzhou, Ningguo and Jingxian county. It has a circle of nearly 100 Li, with waterfalls, deep pools and ancient pines. The peak is 1153 meters above sea level.

history

According to historical records, "Gaofeng had no temple before the Tang Dynasty. It is said that after Fufeng Miaozu passed through here, he saw white clouds winding around the top of the mountain. The temple was first built in the third year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty. Because there was a mountain and rock in the shape of a great master's mouth, and the clear spring overflowed in the mouth, it was also called "Lingyan Temple" all the year round. It was the beginning of opening up an ancient temple, and then it was renovated and expanded year by year. By the time of Zhiping in Song Dynasty, it had begun to take shape, with dozens of monks. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the peasant uprising of Zhu Yuanzhang in Fengyang was at a low ebb, and he was defeated in Ningguo. So he went up to the peak of baiyun temple to burn incense and worship Buddha. He asked the gods to bless him. He made a wish that if he turned defeat into victory in the future, he would repair the temple. Zhu Yuanzhang later overthrew the Yuan Dynasty and became emperor. Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, did not forget his old wish. He granted "baiyun temple", and Jia Fen, the official of Beijing mausoleum, made a pilgrimage. According to historical records, "baiyun temple is the first ancient temple in the southeast of Ningjun." It has a history of more than 1300 years. During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, the main hall of the temple collapsed, and master Sanbao, the abbot, with his followers, rebuilt it and covered it with iron tiles to make it permanent. Then the temple became magnificent and the weather was renewed. Since then, "Tiewa Temple" has been widely known, and its incense has flourished day by day. At the time of Buddhism, pilgrims gathered nearly ten thousand people, which was the heyday of the ancient temple. In 1944, the temple was destroyed by war. During the cultural revolution, the temple was destroyed again, but the temple and monk house sites are still there, and the ancient wells, temple steles, monk tombs, and iron tiles of the town hall still exist. After the reform and opening up, the religious policy was implemented, and the "Tiewa Temple" was gradually restored to life after several times of spontaneous donation and repair by local believers in Nanjing, Yixing, Lin'an, Xuanzhou and other places. Every year, there are thousands of pilgrims on the three traditional Buddhist festivals of February 19, June 19 and September 19.

"The world's most famous monks.". "Tiewa Temple" is surrounded by many places of interest. According to the stele of Zhiping period in the Song Dynasty, "the peak in front of Tiewa temple stands at ten thousand feet, on which there is a luohansong tree. It is surrounded by a hundred feet of trees. It has been green and evergreen for hundreds of years, and there is a thousand foot deep pool under it....". In addition to "luohansong" and "Longtan", there are also "supporting stone", "tofu terrace", "Stone Group", "ring stone", "stone Buddha", "lion cave" and "Wuchang cave" where Wuchang Bodhisattva practices meditation, as well as "Guanyin rock", "City wall head" and "pagoda stone" and other new scenic spots discovered by later generations. Most of them are "strong, strange, dangerous and secluded", which is amazing. Now after years of Closing Hillsides for afforestation, the trees are more luxuriant, the environment is more quiet, and the scenery is more charming. Far sighted, the mountains are stacked, surrounded by green, beautiful.

There are 27 national first and second level protected animals such as clouded leopard, leopard, black muntjac, sika deer, golden headed turtle, white necked pheasant, macaque and Channa Argus (giant salamander), and 13 national key protected plants such as Hongdoushan, ginkgo, jinqiansong and native Eucommia. Also produce Ganoderma lucidum, stone ear, leopard skin camphor, hickory, asparagus, needle, basswood mushroom and other Chinese herbal medicine and wild green food. It is particularly worth mentioning that there are high mountain tea in the area of Ya mountain and Ya pit around Tiewa temple. According to the tea classic by Lu Yu, the God of tea, and the records of tea history, Ya mountain tea (Ya tea) near Tiewa temple was listed as a tribute by the imperial court as early as the Tang Dynasty. The tea has green color, mellow taste and high quality. It is deeply loved by ancient and modern tea people and has been the best tea since ancient times. In the Song Dynasty, Mei Yaochen's poem "reply to Xuancheng zhangzhubo's Yiya mountain tea second to its rhyme", there is a saying that "in the past Tang poetry, tea rhyme is elegant and beautiful. The crow was born with tea in its mouth, so it was named crow in the same mountain. Although Jiangnan is rich in tea, there is no such tea everywhere. Tender as a sparrow tongue, fried and cooked more than bud. Wu people and Yue people fight each other and praise each other. " I'm highly praised by you.
