There are thousands of butterflies in the valley. Colorful butterflies can be seen everywhere dancing among the green trees and flowers.

There are more than 500 kinds of exquisite butterfly and insect specimens on display in the Herbarium, among which there are precious Papilio variegata, Papilio tridentatus, Papilio tridentatus, Papilio polydentatus, Papilio Apollo, Scarab quadrimaculatus, chrysomys longicornis, chrysomys pronatus, horsetail bee and World representative butterflies. Butterfly Valley in Yalong Bay is currently under renovation and maintenance and is expected to reopen by the end of 2015.

Butterfly Valley

Located in the back of Longtan Lake, Yalong Bay, it is located in the tropical semi deciduous seasonal rain forest. It is rich in vegetation. There are many precious Dracaena (not old pine) and more than 360 kinds of plants, such as eyeglass bean, Haige, shuiweng, etc. many of them are natural butterfly hosts, such as Longzhu fruit vine, maduoling vine, camphor, yellow cup, Sabina, yellow skin, banyan, oleander, etc.

Among the primitive and deep tropical forests, surrounded by mountains on three sides, a clear stream runs through the bottom of the valley. Thousands of colorful butterflies naturally grow in the valley. Due to its excellent ecological environment and reasonable artificial transformation, Butterfly Valley has become one of the world's unique Butterfly Gardens with the perfect combination of human and nature. It is China's first butterfly culture park integrating exhibition, science and education, tourism and shopping.

The exhibition hall of Butterfly Valley is designed according to the shape of butterflies. In the valley, there are large net butterfly garden, butterfly ecological garden, specimen exhibition hall, butterfly breeding garden, shopping center and handicraft workshop with butterfly culture as the main commodity. Visitors can have a more perceptual understanding of the ecological process of butterflies.

Butterfly Garden

Butterfly Valley has a large ecological butterfly garden and a museum with precious butterflies and insect specimens.

Yalong Bay Butterfly Valley is the first largest net type butterfly garden in China so far. The butterfly garden covers an area of 1682 square meters. A large number of butterfly hosts and nectar plants are planted in the net, forming a good place for butterfly activities and habitats. About 200000 butterflies are bred and released for tourists to watch every year, and about 6000 live butterflies are kept every day. Visitors can watch them every day Ecological butterfly.

The natural butterfly garden is to transform the small environment and plant a large number of butterfly hosts and nectar plants, so as to achieve the ecological requirements and activity space of butterfly self breeding, and attract the butterflies from the outside world to breed here. The natural ornamental butterfly density in the Butterfly Valley is 4-8 times that of the outside world. It has a good ecological effect on butterflies.

Some species of host and nectar plants are selected for breeding in butterfly breeding garden.

Exhibition Hall

The specimen exhibition hall covers an area of 300 square meters. There are more than 500 kinds of exquisite butterfly and insect specimens on display in the museum, including the precious Papilio variegata, Papilio tricornata, Papilio tricornata, Papilio multicornata, Papilio Apollo, chrysomys quadrimaculatus, chrysomys longicornis, chrysomys rostratus, horsetail bee and World representative butterflies. The specimen studio is the workplace for making butterfly specimens and handicrafts. It recycles the natural Dead butterflies and realizes the reuse of resources.

1. Taihe bus (new national line) route: West Station - municipal Party committee - Dadonghai - Tiandu - Yalong Bay. Every 30 minutes.

2. The new national line double deck sightseeing bus (the upper floor is open shed and the lower floor is air-conditioned) route: Yalong Bay Dadonghai Sanya Bay Xidao wharf Tianyahaijiao. It runs every half an hour. The early bus departs from Yalong Bay at 7:00, and the last bus returns from the ends of the earth at about 19:00.
