Yanguoxia reservoir

Yanguoxia reservoir was built for Yanguoxia Hydropower Station. The reservoir is located in Yongjing County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, 7km away from Lanzhou, the provincial capital. It is the eighth cascade hydropower station in the planning of Longyangxia Qingtongxia reach of the Yellow River, and the first large-scale hydropower station on the main stream of the Yellow River, which mainly focuses on power generation and takes into account irrigation. Therefore, it is known as "the first pearl on the Yellow River" and the first monument of "eradicating the Yellow River flood and developing the Yellow River water conservancy" in New China.

Dam structure

The dam is composed of wide joint gravity dam on the left bank, overflow dam on the right bank and concrete auxiliary dam on the left and right banks. The total length of the dam crest is 321m, the elevation of the dam crest is 1624.2m, the height of the dam is 57.2m and the width of the dam crest is 15.9m. There are two stilling basins in the downstream of No.1-5 Overflow Dams to dissipate energy by underflow. The sixth spillway dam is a flood discharge channel, which can dissipate energy by flip flow. The powerhouse is located behind the dam, with a total length of 192.5 meters, a width of 18.4 meters and a height of 40.3 meters. It is equipped with 10 sets of water turbine units with a unit capacity of 44000-45000 kW (according to the statistics of 44000 kW), a maximum design head of 39.5 meters and a reinforced concrete spiral case. The transformer platform between the power plant and the dam adopts "two generators and one transformer" expanded unit connection, and 8-Circuit 110kV line is used to transmit power to Lanzhou power grid. There are 5 main transformers with a total capacity of 625000 kVA.

Reservoir scale

The section from Yanguoxia to Liujiaxia is cut off to form a reservoir. The reservoir is 30 kilometers long and controls the area of the Yellow River Basin of 183000 square kilometers. It can not only irrigate the farmland on the second bank to build water conservancy, but also regulate the reservoir water for disaster reduction and benefit, and make full use of the reservoir water for power generation.
