Introduction to Library

From Yuhang

In the summer of 2009, product manifold proposed the "from Yuhang" plan; in the second year, product manifold began to study the traditional handicraft of Yuhang from the paper umbrella and made the paper chair "float"; in the summer of 2012, the "from Yuhang" plan evolved into "Rong handmade in" The exhibition aims to deconstruct and redesign five traditional materials (bamboo, silk, clay, copper and paper) in five years

Composition of Library

In the summer of 2015, from Yuhang and Rong continued to evolve into "from Yuhang Rong Design Library", located in Wuchang, Yuhang, Hangzhou. We have been preparing for this for more than a year. The design library officially opened on June 12. The library is a non-profit organization, and all the income is used for the basic operation of the library

.

The library is divided into four parts. The first part is the library of traditional Chinese materials. We have sorted out the research on traditional handicrafts, the deconstruction and decomposition of materials over the years, and made them public to designers in the library.

Chinese traditional materials library is the foundation of the whole library. We have set up a special material research group, which has carried out the research on traditional materials for five years. From the 72 processes of paper umbrella, we sorted out 13 materials; from the bamboo paper production process, we sorted out 16 materials. Behind every material is a workshop;

The second part of the library is design books, which will be composed of books recommended and donated by 100 designers;

The third part is the design concept store: "from Yuhang design concept store" is prepared by the product logistics studio. The whole space is an extension of the outside garden, which we call "deisgn garden". Besides displaying Pinwu's works, the store also cooperates with other designer brands.

The fourth part is design exhibition space: design exhibition, design award, product release will be held from time to time
