National Olympic Sports Center

The National Olympic Sports Center (hereinafter referred to as the Olympic Sports Center) is located in the south of the middle road of the North Fourth Ring Road in Beijing, facing the Olympic Park, the Olympic Forest Park and the Olympic village. The National Olympic Sports Center was built in July 1986, and was officially put into use before the 11th Asian Games in 1990. It is a sports base and sports park integrating competition and training, national fitness, leisure and entertainment. For more than ten years, as an external window of China's sports development, it has successively hosted a series of major sports events and other important large-scale activities, such as the 11th Asian Games, the 7th National Games, the 21st World University Games and the 2008 Olympic Games, which are deeply loved by the people.

National Olympic Sports Center

The National Olympic Sports Center is located in the south of Beisihuan middle road in Beijing, across the road from the Olympic Park, the Olympic Forest Park and the Olympic village. It is a sports art center integrating competition and training, national fitness and entertainment.

 

The architectural design of the National Olympic Center is novel and unique, forming a grand venue group, covering a total area of 66 hectares, with a total construction area of 220000 square meters and a construction cost of 2 billion yuan.

 

As an external window of China's sports development, the National Olympic Sports Center has successively undertaken a series of major sports events and other major events, such as the 11th Asian Games, the 7th National Games, the 21st World University Games and the 2008 Olympic Games.

 

In 2019, the National Olympic Sports Center won the "excellent organization award" issued by the sports culture development center of the General Administration of sport.

 

Evolution of construction

In July 1986, the National Olympic Sports Center was officially completed.

On April 1, 2006, the reconstruction project of the National Olympic Sports Center for the Olympic Games officially started.

 

On September 11, 2007, the reconstruction and expansion project of the National Olympic Sports Center Stadium was officially completed.

 

Architectural pattern

Gymnasium

The National Olympic Center Gymnasium is located in the north of the Olympic Sports Center. It is an important sports building in the Olympic Sports Center. The total construction area of the gymnasium is 32400 square meters and can accommodate 6300 spectators.

 

natatorium

The natatorium of the National Olympic Sports Center is located in the north of the Olympic Sports Center, with a total construction area of 39000 square meters, and can accommodate more than 6000 spectators. There is a standard swimming pool to undertake all kinds of water sports competitions and artistic performances.

 

Zigzag tennis court

The National Olympic Sports Center Qu tennis court is located in the northeast of the Olympic Sports Center, with a total construction area of 3100 square meters, and can accommodate more than 1000 spectators. It undertakes the training tasks of hockey and gateball competitions.

 

Training Gym

The training hall of the National Olympic Sports Center is located in the north of the Olympic Sports Center and consists of three training grounds of the same scale. With a total construction area of 15000 square meters, it undertakes the training tasks of handball, martial arts, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair rugby, etc.

 

Architectural features

The facade modeling and structural design of the gymnasium of the National Olympic Sports Center are closely coordinated. The roof part adopts the cable-stayed hyperboloid composite lattice shell combined with the architectural modeling. The three-dimensional truss at the roof ridge is pulled by the steel tower cable. The latticed shell on both sides adopts the inclined pyramid. The treatment method of the lower facade of the gymnasium is simple and bright, and the light colored wall and deep wall are sprayed Color door window frame and blue gray reflective glass form a large area of virtual real contrast. The light grid structure and blue gray reflective glass of the south entrance rest hall of the gymnasium are particularly prominent against the huge building entity at the rear. The red grid structure at the entrance and the silver gray rain pipe at the upper part are very distinct against the blue gray glass. The gables on both sides are improved with round windows and herringbone cornice windows, which makes the facade unique and unique .

Value significance

As the training base directly under the State General Administration of sports, the National Olympic sports center undertakes the training support tasks for nearly 700 athletes of 19 national teams in nine events, including track and field, football, handball, softball, judo, wrestling, hockey, tennis and boxing, according to the project layout of the general administration. Taking advantage of the training gap, the public welfare property of large-scale stadiums and gymnasiums is actively brought into play, and social responsibility is undertaken. Nearly 160 national fitness activities and competitions with more than 1000 people are held every year, and more than 2.8 million people are received annually.
