Beijing time museum is located in the southeast corner of the intersection of Gulou East Street and di'anmenwai street in Dongcheng District, with a total area of about 5700 square meters, reaching 268 Gulou East Street in the East, di'anmennei street in the west, Gulou East Street in the north and xin'anli Hutong 22 in the south.

Development history

In 2010, as one of the construction projects of the bell and Drum Tower and its surrounding historic areas, the bell and Drum Tower Beijing time museum was officially approved by the State Administration of cultural relics and started construction. At the fourth session of the 15th National People's Congress of Dongcheng District, it was learned that the restoration and renovation of Zhonggulou square will soon be completed, and the time museum will be open to the public. At present, the main structure of the museum has been completed.

architectural composition

The main building of the museum is composed of brick, tile and wood structure. It is a "three door" type. The room is about 34 meters high, the hall space is about 100 square meters, and six columns under the eaves support the house. The whole building is huge and magnificent. The total construction area of time museum is 14720 square meters, including one floor above ground and three floors below ground. In addition to the time science hall, history museum and other functional areas, the underground space will also provide space for parking, catering and business.

Function value

After the completion of the Beijing time Museum, citizens will be able to visit a series of public welfare exhibitions in the museum, such as time culture exhibition, time science exhibition, time tool development and so on. In order to coordinate with the style of the bell and Drum Tower area, the design scheme is enclosed traditional style architecture.
