The temple of Zongjing Dazhao is located in Xiangshan Park, Haidian District, Beijing. It is a Gelug Temple of Tibetan Buddhism.

Historical legend

The temple of Zongjing Dazhao was built by the Qing Dynasty to receive the sixth Panchen Lama to Beijing. In 1778, the sixth Panchen Lama learned that the 70th birthday celebration of Emperor Qianlong would be held. He asked to go to Beijing to attend the celebration and asked Zhangjia ruobiduoji to report to Emperor Qianlong: "Erdeni, the Panchen Lama, wanted to come to Beijing to worship the great emperor.". Emperor Qianlong was very happy, and immediately ordered: "in two years, I will live 700000 years and invite him to meet in Rehe." Considering that Rehe (now Chengde) and Beijing are hotter than Tibet and are the sixth Panchen summer resort, Emperor Qianlong planned to build the temple of Xumi Fushou in Rehe; build the temple of Zongjing Dazhao in jingyiyuan (now Xiangshan Park) of Xiangshan in Beijing as the summer residence of Panchen and Xihuang temple in Beijing as the winter residence of Panchen.

The temple of Zongjing Dazhao is different from Xumi Fushou temple. The white platform of Xumi Fushou temple is behind and the red platform is in front. Its layout is similar to that of zhashlunbu temple in Xigaze, Tibet. The layout of Zongjing Dazhao temple is white platform in front and red platform in back. Referring to Shilun diamond altar, the name of the temple is basically the same. For example, Hongtai's four wisdom Hall of "big round mirror wisdom, chengzuo wisdom, wonderful observation wisdom, and equality wisdom", Baitai's "pure Dharma wisdom" comes from the "pure" nature of Shilun diamond altar's second level language awareness altar, "Zongjing Dazhao Temple" is also similar to Tibet's Dazhao temple The meaning is similar. In the construction of the Jokhang Temple, the mandala was referred to.

On February 26, 1792, Emperor Qianlong's 57th year (1792), he Lu, Fu Chang'an, Jin Jian, Debao and Yi ling'azuo wrote memorials on the sale of materials and silver. The folding list will be available on February 27. This folding piece records: "the temple of Zongjing Dazhao was built in the 42nd year of Qianlong and completed in the 44th year of Qianlong." That is to say, it was started in 1777 and completed in 1779. The selected files of the sixth Panchen pilgrimage collected the memorial of the work file of the house of internal affairs on November 9, the 44th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong. It can be seen that from November to December of the 44th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong, many gold-plated tile buildings in the temple had reached the stage of gold-plated ornaments and tiles, and the hall had reached the stage of furnishing and decoration of Buddha statues. On February 26, the 45th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, it was recorded that "three pairs of tonglinghua and three pairs of dragon wax were made in the Zhao Temple". It can be seen that the fabrication of the Zhao Temple's furnishings had not yet been completed. According to the memorial on May 16, the 45th year of Emperor Qianlong, "the temple of Zongjing Dazhao collected Sutra cakes once on the day of celebration, and the two names of Sula were used to deliver them.".

On September 19, 1780, Emperor Qianlong awarded the sixth Panchen Lama a visit. The selected archives of the sixth Panchen pilgrimage contains the film of Yongzhen playing and following the order to prepare for the Panchen Lama's Kaiguang satirical Sutra at the zhaomiao temple in Xiangshan on September 17, the 45th year of Qianlong On the 18th, the emperor ordered Erdeni to recite the Scriptures in the temple. On the 19th, Erdeni, the Panchen Lama, welcomed him in the temple. After three days, Erdeni, the Panchen Lama, returned to the Yellow temple on the 21st. " It can be seen that the sixth Panchen lived in Zhao Temple on September 18, 19 and 20.
