Zandan Temple

One kilometer out of Suo County, you can see the zandan temple on the mountain. The zandan temple was built in 1668 when the fifth Dalai Lama was in power. It was built on the top of the yarado mountain and looked like the Potala Palace. In the west of yarado mountain, where zandan temple is located, Yarra township is the hometown of King Gesar's concubine. It is said that when it was built, it was completely prepared to follow the style of the Potala Palace, but when it came back with the drawings, some of them were lost, so they were not exactly the same as the Potala Palace. A large number of murals and printed scriptures are collected in the temple.

Zandan Temple

Zandan temple in Suo County, Naqu Prefecture: it is the earliest yellow temple in northern Tibet. It was built in 1668 when the fifth Dalai Lama was in power. It was built on the top of the yalado mountain and resembles the Potala Palace. Yala Township, west of yarado mountain, where zandan temple is located, is the hometown of Princess Gesar.

Out of Suo County along the 317 national highway Baqing direction 1 km, you can see the zandan temple on the mountain. Zandan temple is located in 4 villages of Yala Town, suoxian county. It is a Gelug temple. It is one of the four temples in suoxian County, covering an area of 25975.5 square meters. It was built in 1667 by awanlosangjiacuo. It was destroyed in 1959 and during the cultural revolution. It was repaired with the approval of the government in 1985.

Basic information

The temple is divided into two parts, the White House and the Red Palace. In the middle is the Red Palace, which is mainly used for worshiping Buddhists and religious affairs. On both sides and behind is the White House, where monks live.

So they sent craftsmen to carve the design of the Potala Palace on the radish, and then they built a palace according to the model. However, it is not as good as the Potala Palace in any way. When I rushed back to Shigatse from Lhasa, the radish model had been dried and deformed.

What about the truth? The existing style of Potala Palace was built in the 17th century, while the ancient castle of Gyangze was built in the 14th century. It should be the outstanding features of the 14th century Zongpu buildings that influenced the later buildings, and they were built according to the environmental characteristics and other considerations.
