Inner Mongolia Police Vocational College (Inner Mongolia Police Training Corps) is the only public security college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is listed in the public security series. It is a public security management unit directly under the Public Security Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It trains public security professionals for the public security organs of the region. It also undertakes the functions of on-the-job training of public security and civil police, public security theoretical and practical research and emergency response. People and property shall be managed by the Public Security Department of the autonomous region, and educational administration shall be managed by the Education Department of the autonomous region.
Its predecessor is the training department directly under the Ministry of public security of Inner Mongolia, which was established in 1948. In 1980, it was rebuilt as the people's Police School of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In 2001, it was established as Inner Mongolia Police Vocational College with the approval of the people's Government of the autonomous region. In 2002, the former judicial School of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was merged into the college.
The college is established at the deputy department level, with 17 department level organizations, including 6 administrative organizations and 11 teaching and auxiliary organizations.
The college offers criminal investigation, public security management, traffic management, domestic security, information network security supervision, legal affairs, public security secretary, community management and service. Mongolian and Chinese bilingual classes are set up for criminal investigation and public security management. Each major mainly cultivates high-quality technical talents with firm political stance, loyalty and reliability, strict organization, good professional ethics and basic quality of police, familiar with China's public security work line, principles, policies and relevant laws and regulations, and oriented to the grass-roots front-line law enforcement duty. Police English and Mongolian are offered in Chinese class, and Mongolian Chinese bilingual class is taught in Mongolian and Chinese. In 2016, five majors including criminal investigation, public security management, traffic management, domestic security and information network security supervision were enrolled, and Mongolian Chinese bilingual teaching classes were enrolled in criminal investigation.
Over the past 68 years since its establishment, the college has trained more than 50000 students of various types. Graduates are all over the district's public security, political and legal organs at all levels. The vast majority of graduates have become the backbone of their units, and many graduates have stepped into leading positions. The college has trained Mongolian and Han police professionals for Liaoning, Jilin, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu and other provinces.
According to the spirit of the central political and Legal Commission, Ministry of public security and other 11 ministries and commissions on the recruitment and training system reform of political and legal colleges, the college has been listed as the first batch of pilot colleges for the recruitment and training system reform, and has been recruiting students since 2008.
The college undertakes the tasks of training new recruits of the people's police, training Intermediate police officers and promotion of police rank, professional training of police types and training of special police skills, and trains about 5000 policemen every year.
Teachers and students of the college actively participate in the security tasks of handling major emergencies, emergency rescue and major activities, and become an important force of maintaining stability in the emergency disposal of the public security department, which plays a positive role in ensuring social security and stability, deterring and cracking down on illegal and criminal activities in the Autonomous Region.
According to the requirements of the opinions on the reform of the recruitment and training system of public security professionals in public security colleges and universities issued by the central editorial office, the Ministry of human resources and social security, the Ministry of public security, the Ministry of education, the Ministry of Finance and the state civil service bureau (No. 106 [2015] of the Ministry of social security), "We should establish a coordination mechanism between the enrollment of Public Security Colleges and that of public security organs, increase the proportion of graduates majoring in public security in public security colleges and universities, and ensure that graduates of Public Security Colleges and universities become the main channel for public security organs to supplement the police force." The college and Mongolian Police University are friendly exchange colleges. Since 2000, according to the arrangement of the Ministry of public security and the Public Security Department of the autonomous region, several training courses have been held for Mongolian criminal investigation, middle and senior police officers, etc. In 2008, in accordance with the spirit of the Ministry of public security and the Ministry of the interior of the Russian Federation on strengthening the cooperation and exchanges between the two countries' police, the Institute, the eastern Siberian Institute of the Ministry of the interior of the Russian Federation and the Omsk Institute of the Russian Federation were established as counterpart exchange institutions, which regularly exchange visits every year and send teachers to study and exchange.
