Daxing'anling Vocational College

Daxing'anling vocational college is a public full-time comprehensive university, the northernmost University in China, and the only university in Daxing'anling. The college is located on the South Bank of Ganhe River in Jiagedaqi, the capital of Daxinganling region, Heilongjiang Province, which is a national ecological functional area. It is adjacent to YINGSHANHONG ski resort, sports center, cold temperate botanical garden and gaxian airport, which is open to traffic this year.

The college was established in 2003 on the basis of the former Daxing'anling normal school, health school, forestry school and radio and Television University. Starting from the earliest health school, vocational education has been established for more than 40 years, and more than 20000 talents have been trained, including a large number of outstanding alumni, such as Mao Dun Literature award-winning writers, well-known experts in teaching and scientific research, outstanding leaders in social management and entrepreneurs with achievements in business and Industry.

The college campus covers an area of 495 mu, with a total construction area of more than 100000 square meters and an experimental forest farm of 4500 mu. Currently, there are 4500 full-time students from 15 provinces (autonomous regions) in China.

The college has 45 laboratories with advanced equipment, more than 20 million yuan of teaching equipment and 360000 books. The forestry products of the State Forestry Administration and the blueberry inspection and testing center of the General Administration of quality supervision and inspection of the people's Republic of China, the food and drug quality inspection and research and development center of Daxing'anling Forest Region, and the national forestry special industry occupation skill appraisal station have all settled in the College. The college has more than 30 on Campus Training and practice bases, such as affiliated hospitals, wood processing plants and comprehensive mineral training rooms, and more than 60 off campus training and employment bases all over the country.

The college has a strong faculty. There are 290 full-time teachers, including 21 professors and 85 associate professors, 94 teachers with master's degree or above, 1 provincial famous teacher, 2 foreign teachers, 1 provincial teaching team and 4 provincial excellent courses.

The college has 7 teaching departments including medical technology department, forestry management department, electronic engineering department, normal education department, art and sports department, adult education department and basic department, and 15 auxiliary teaching departments including library, gymnasium, training department, scientific research department and student work department. The college offers 24 majors including nursing, furniture design and manufacturing, animation design, mineral processing technology, metallurgical technology, preschool education and music performance. Among them, the major of forest resources protection (Forest Fire Prevention Command and communication direction) is the only major set up in the national higher vocational colleges, and is currently actively applying for the key major of the State Forestry Administration; the nursing major is the largest major of three-year junior college students in Heilongjiang Higher Vocational Colleges, which has been listed as the provincial teaching reform pilot major and enjoys high reputation both inside and outside the province; Mineral processing technology and metallurgical technology are the only majors in Higher Vocational Colleges of Heilongjiang Province.

The college has made remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research. In terms of talent training, it highlights the applicability and practicality, adheres to the combination of work and study as the starting point of teaching, establishes the curriculum system of "double certificate" integration, develops the systematic curriculum based on the working process, realizes the overall optimization and re integration of teaching content, and students have won many awards in the national vocational skills competition. College graduates can obtain "double certificates" of diploma and vocational skill appraisal, and have strong social competitiveness and employability. The college has presided over a number of high-level projects such as the key projects of the National Social Science Fund, the 948 project of the State Forestry Administration, and the Provincial Natural Science Fund.
