Fujian South China Women's vocational college is located in Cangshan School District of Fuzhou with beautiful natural environment and rich cultural environment. Its predecessor was the private South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, which was founded in 1908. In October 1984, under the leadership of Dr. Yu Baosheng, the old South China Alumni living at home and abroad re established Fujian South China Women's Vocational College in the name of South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences and the Alumni Association of the affiliated middle school. It is the first full-time private women's college with the qualification of academic education admitted by the state The system is three years, facing the enrollment of Fujian Province. The college has majors in practical English, fashion design and engineering, footwear design and technology, children's education, nutritional food inspection and management, public utilities management, foreign tourism management, foreign trade English, international economy and trade and home economics.

There are 47 full-time teachers with the title of deputy senior or above, 6 doctors, 23 masters, 12 foreign teachers and 95 part-time teachers. The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of teaching staff, and has selected nearly 20 teachers to study for master's degree in Florida State University, Century College, Hiroshima University of Japan, yisancang University of Thailand and other foreign universities. At the same time, it supports and encourages young teachers to participate in various forms of degree learning and various special training.

As one of the advanced units of private colleges and universities in China, the college always adheres to the non-profit purpose, attaches importance to maintaining its own school running characteristics and teaching and education quality, strives for survival with characteristics and development with quality. According to the characteristics of women, the college not only strengthens the study of students' professional courses, but also pays attention to the training of students' oral English and computer skills, requiring them to have a more fluent daily life Good oral communication skills and basic computer skills. In 1995, the course of listening and speaking for practical English majors was rated as an excellent course in provincial universities. In 1996, clothing specialty was identified as the key specialty of Vocational Colleges by the Provincial Education Commission. In 1997, the college was rated as the national advanced unit of private colleges and universities. In the same year, with the approval of the Provincial Department of labor, the college established the "clothing vocational skills appraisal station", and won the first place in the comprehensive evaluation of the city's various industry appraisal stations in 1998. In 1999, the laboratory of nutrition food inspection and management specialty passed the laboratory evaluation of colleges and universities in the whole province. In 2002, clothing specialty was approved as the pilot specialty of higher vocational education reform by the Ministry of education. In 2003, the course of clothing structure design was established as an excellent course construction project in Fujian Province.

Since 1985, the college has introduced more than 80 foreign teachers from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and other countries, nearly 200 person times; it has also cooperated with Florida State University in the United States, Phuket Bay University in the United States, Century College in the United States, Sweden vocational and Technical College in Finland, Lihua University in Korea, Jogakuin University in Japan and schlimon University in the Philippines The university has signed inter school cooperation and exchange agreements, conducted academic exchanges, regularly exchanged visiting scholars, selected teachers to teach in our college, accepted young teachers from our college to study abroad, and implemented the "3 + 1" graduate study abroad program.
