Changde vocational and Technical College (College Code: 13039) is a full-time state-owned public university, which was approved by Hunan Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. It was established by the merger of the former Changde health school, Changde agricultural school and Changde mechanical and electrical engineering school in 2003. The college is located in Changde City, Hunan Province, which enjoys the reputation of "city in the peach garden".

The college has a long history and profound culture. The former Changde agricultural school, founded in 1905, is the earliest agricultural school in Hunan Province and one of the eight earliest agricultural schools in China. Changde health school was founded in 1951 as the only medical school in Northwest Hunan. The former Changde School of mechanical and electrical engineering was founded in 1977. Over the past century, tens of thousands of technical talents have been trained for local economic development and social progress.

The college covers an area of 1086 mu, with a building area of 327000 square meters, more than 60 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment, and more than 580000 books. At present, there are 718 full-time teachers, including 32 Teachers with senior titles and 182 teachers with deputy senior titles. With 12000 students, there are 269 on campus professional training rooms and 175 off campus training bases. The nursing professional training base is listed as a vocational education training base supported by the central government.

Based on Higher Vocational and technical education, the college has eight teaching departments, including nursing department, medical department, pharmacy department, mechanical and electrical engineering department, economics and management department, civil engineering department, bioengineering department and electronic information department, one education college and two affiliated hospitals, and has set up 33 specialties, There are two major construction specialties: medical and health specialty and manufacturing specialty. There are nursing, clinical medicine, pharmacy, mechatronics technology, mold design and manufacturing, automobile testing and maintenance, construction engineering technology, garden technology, aquaculture, accounting computerization and other major construction specialties.
