1、 The school has a long history

Jiangxi University of science and technology was founded in 1958, formerly known as Jiangxi Institute of metallurgy. It was renamed as Southern Institute of metallurgy in 1988 and Jiangxi University of science and technology in 2004. It is a University jointly built by Jiangxi Provincial People's government, Ministry of industry and information technology and Ministry of education. The University focuses on engineering, combines science with engineering, develops management, economics, law, literature, art, pedagogy and other disciplines in a coordinated way, and is well-known for its doctoral and academic achievements It is a teaching and research-oriented university with the right to receive overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and overseas students. It is an important talent training and scientific research base for China's non-ferrous metal industry and iron and steel industry, and is known as the "cradle of non-ferrous metallurgy talents".

Since its establishment in 1958, the university has started undergraduate education, master's education in 1980 and doctoral education in 2013, forming a complete human resources training system.

The school has established a reasonable structure, professional skills, rigorous academic teaching team. At present, there are more than 2000 faculty members, including more than 600 professors and associate professors, and more than 270 doctoral and master tutors. The University also employs academicians Zhang Wenhai, Yan Chunhua, Lai Yuanming and more than 130 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad as part-time or visiting professors of the University, and employs more than 10 foreign teachers to teach all the year round, with a complete team of teachers and a strong faculty.
