Linxiang Huagu opera, commonly known as "wuqin opera", originated in the Taolin River Basin in Linxiang, Hunan Province, and was born out of the local music of Linxiang, such as folk songs, night songs, filial piety songs and minor tunes. It is a unique form of dramatic expression with local characteristics. There are more than 390 tunes, and nearly 100 traditional and modern plays. His representative works include Wang Meizi's return to the door, Meng's cutting shares, Daxing and LAN LAN, etc.

Linxiang Huagu opera is a "living fossil" carrying the cultural information of Yao nationality. Born out of Linxiang folk songs, folk songs and other tunes, the tune of Linxiang Huagu opera has obvious musical heritage of Yao nationality. The protection and inheritance of Linxiang Huagu opera is of great significance to the research and inheritance of Chu Xiang culture.
