Located in Changping District, Beijing, the Academy of Chemical Defense Command Engineering of the people's Liberation Army (PLA) covers an area of nearly 3000 mu and is subordinate to the general staff of the PLA. It is the only comprehensive university in the PLA to cultivate chemical defense command and engineering technical talents. The Chemical Defense Command Engineering College of the PLA, formerly known as the Chemical Warfare School of the CMC, was established in 1950 with the approval of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou.
