Hunan Police Academy

Hunan Police College (formerly Hunan Public Security College) is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, a famous historical and cultural city. It is the only full-time general college in Hunan Province, which is approved by the Ministry of education. Since its establishment in 1949, after more than half a century of hard work, the school has formed a school running mode in which the diploma education of public security special specialty coexists with the diploma education of non public security general specialty, and the diploma education and on-the-job police training develop simultaneously.

The school is located in the rapid development of Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 788.45 mu, building area of more than 210000 square meters, beautiful environment, for the provincial garden unit. The school has complete teaching facilities, including modern educational technology center, shooting gallery, simulation block, electronic reading room and other modern teaching facilities, as well as 33 professional experiments and training bases, including police combat training ground, criminal science and technology laboratory, tactical training ground, simulation court, driving school, etc. The library has 630000 paper books and thousands of periodicals. There are 489 teaching staff, including 301 full-time teachers, 29 full-time professors, 143 associate professors, 122 teachers with master's degree or above, and 31 senior police officers above the third level. There are 1 national excellent course, 4 provincial excellent courses, 4 provincial excellent practice bases, 3 provincial key majors and 1 provincial basic course demonstration laboratory. There are 10 teaching departments including investigation department, public security department, criminal science and Technology Department, traffic management department, law department, public management department and computer science and technology department. There are 8 special public security majors and 6 general non public security majors. In 2006, the school passed the personnel training assessment of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China and was awarded the "excellent" grade. At present, there are more than 6500 students from all over the country.

The school always adheres to the school running philosophy of "building the school by politics, building the school by quality, prospering the school by talents and strengthening the school by scientific research", implements the talent training mode of combining teaching, scientific research and practical combat, and adheres to the school motto of "loyalty, truth, wisdom and courage" and the school spirit of "serving the country, casting the soul of loyalty, cultivating the spirit of justice and gathering the righteousness of justice". Police management should be carried out for students majoring in public security, and management should be carried out according to the management mode of public security for students not majoring in public security. In addition to learning relevant business knowledge, students also need to master a variety of skills such as military queue, driving skills, computer operation, capture and fighting. The school has various scholarships, grants and work study posts to assist students from poor families to complete their studies.

With the purpose of "facing the society and serving the students", the school holds dozens of large and small job fairs every year. The higher authorities attach great importance to the employment of graduates majoring in public security in our university. In September 2006, Hunan Provincial Department of personnel and public security department jointly issued a document (XRF [2006] No. 133), which clearly stipulates that when recruiting people's police, the public security organs should "reasonably set up posts, more than 70% of the majors should be set up as public security professional posts, and be recruited from public security graduates of public security colleges". In the past years, the comprehensive quality of the graduates in the civil service recruitment examination of the customs and the people's police recruitment examination of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and other places ranks in the forefront of similar colleges and universities in China.
