Pu'er college is located in the urban area of Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. Its predecessor is Simao teachers college. It started to be established in 1977, officially enrolled students in October 1978, and upgraded to Pu'er college in March 2012. It has a history of 40 years.

The school covers an area of 2024 mu, with a building area of 170000 square meters. There are 12535 full-time students (including 308 international students).
