Fujian Police College

Fujian Police College is a full-time undergraduate college that mainly trains people's police and public security professionals in public security organs. It is the only public security college in Fujian Province. It implements the dual leadership of the provincial public security department and the provincial education department, with the provincial public security department as the main management system.

The predecessor of the college is Fujian police cadre school, which was founded in August 1949 and renamed Fujian police cadre school in 1950. In October 1984, Fujian Police College was founded on the basis of Fujian police cadre school. In April 2000, Fujian people's Police College and Fujian Public Security College merged to establish a new Fujian Public Security College. On May 15, 2007, the Ministry of Education approved the formal establishment of Fujian Police College. After 60 years of construction and development, the college has become a training base for Fujian reserve police, a training base for Fujian in-service intermediate police officers, a research and development base for Fujian Public Security Science and technology and public security theory, and a base for police academic exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan.

The college is located in Cangshan Nantai Island, the cultural center of Fuzhou City. It covers an area of 275 mu, with a total building area of about 153000 square meters. The college has complete infrastructure, advanced teaching means and perfect experimental facilities. It has modern teaching and training venues such as police sports hall, shooting hall, tactical training ground, sports ground, swimming pool and traffic management training base. It has 6 basic laboratories and professional practice in digital investigation, material evidence analysis, trace inspection, document inspection, forensic medicine, special photography and police automatic command There are 16 laboratories and 25 professional practice bases covering 9 cities in the province. The college has an independent library building with a building area of 9200 square meters and a collection of 588000 paper books, highlighting the characteristics of "Fujian, public security, Hong Kong and Taiwan". It has realized microcomputer management and electronic reading, and can be connected with the national digital library.

The college has 342 teaching staff, including 218 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 17 with senior professional titles and 92 with deputy senior professional titles. A team of teachers with reasonable structure has been built to meet the needs of public security higher education. At present, the college has two experts who are entitled to the special allowance of the State Council; two are rated as "national excellent teachers"; one is rated as "outstanding people's teachers in Fujian Province"; 18 are rated as "national public security system model teachers", "national public security system excellent teachers", "Ministry of public security excellent instructors" and "Fujian Province excellent teachers"; two are listed in Fujian Province“ Eight of them were selected as "famous teachers in Colleges and universities of Fujian Province".

At present, the college has 10 teaching departments, including the Department of investigation, Department of public security, Department of public security management, Department of criminal science and technology, Department of police tactics, Department of computer and information management, Department of law, Department of politics and education, Department of foundation, Department of police and sports. There are 4 undergraduate majors and 9 professional directions in public security, That is, the major of investigation (including criminal investigation, domestic security, drug control, police command and tactics); the major of economic crime investigation; the major of criminal science and Technology (including criminal science and technology, information network security supervision); the major of Public Security (including public security management, traffic management, public security management). The major of politics and law has four specialties: law undergraduate major and public affairs management, Secretary (security direction), photography technology, computer network technology (network security direction). Among them, police command and tactics major is a national teaching reform pilot major in higher vocational colleges, criminal investigation major is a provincial key major, and criminal science and technology major is a provincial undergraduate education characteristic major. The college has nearly 4000 students.

In recent years, the college has continuously deepened the reform of education and teaching, and achieved remarkable results. So far, the college has built 4 national excellent courses, 4 ministerial excellent courses and 22 provincial excellent courses. Since 2005, the college's teaching achievement "creating a new system of police command and tactics professional education" has won the first prize of "the fifth national excellent teaching achievement award of higher education", the second prize of "implementing quality engineering strategy and building a new mode of public security professional training" of Fujian Province, and the second prize of "the sixth higher education teaching achievement award"; the college's public security teaching team and investigation teaching group The team was rated as the provincial teaching team; the police technology experimental teaching center and the network security and electronic evidence experimental teaching center were rated as the provincial experimental teaching demonstration center college; the Fujian provincial public security administrative personnel training mode innovation experimental zone was rated as the provincial Talent Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone; the social security Research Center was rated as the provincial university humanities and social sciences research base（ Digital network crime monitoring and prevention and control laboratory was rated as the Key Laboratory of provincial universities (cultivation). The college has been awarded as the "national advanced unit of College Students' social practice" by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of education and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the "national advanced unit of college and secondary school students' Volunteers' summer social practice in the countryside" by the Ministry of education and the Provincial Department of education. Over the years, the college Sanda Team has won more than 100 gold medals in international and domestic competitions. Teachers and students of the college have made good achievements in international competitions on behalf of the avant-garde Sports Association of the Ministry of public security. In 2005, the college was approved by the Ministry of education as an institution of higher learning to recruit high-level sports teams. In 2009, the college was awarded the 10th provincial civilized unit by Fujian provincial government.
