[plant morphology] qingyangshen

Perennial twining herbs, 2-5 m long. Root transverse, cylindrical, hypertrophy, skin yellowish brown, white inside, broken with milk. Stem slender, cylindrical, green. Single leaf opposite, triangular ovate, 3-6 cm long, 2.5-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cordate, entire; long petiole. Umbels axillary; flowers small, yellowish green, 5-lobed. The follicles are diangular and dehiscent along one side. Seeds numerous, with long white hairs.

Growing in mixed forest or shrub on hillside. It is distributed in Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan and Tibet.

[medicinal material] the dry roots are cylindrical, about 1.5-2 cm in diameter, yellow on the surface, with many longitudinal wrinkles and longitudinal depressions and cracks.
