[source] it is the exocarp of the immature fruit of Juglans mandshurica. For the plant morphology, please refer to "Hu Tao Ren".

[collection] the immature fruits were harvested in autumn and dried in the sun until the exocarp split.

[medicinal materials] the dried fleshy pericarp is a shrunken hemispherical or flaky one, with many inward curls in the longitudinal plane, about 3-5 cm in diameter and 6-10 mm in thickness. The surface is smooth, dark green, with black spots and a broken fruit stalk at one end. The inner surface is yellowish white and uneven. No gas, bitter taste. Thick, green and large meat is better.
